I got an unbelievably anniversary gift today!!! I heard a knock on the door, I opened it and lo and behold, a HUGE dick blick box filled with ALL of the art supplies I wanted!!!! A few weeks ago, I ordered a Dick Blick catalog and marked all the things I wanted so my DH would have some gift ideas. Well, he ordered everything! There is so much new stuff that I have never worked with before like acrylic inks with quills and nibs and whatnot, watercolor in tubes, blank ATCS (artist trading cards) and more.... Let me tell you, I'm a little bit overwhelmed. I know I'm going to need major practice with these new media.... So here is my first attempt! The quill nib and ink was entirely alien to me, so I feel like I will suck at using it for a while. I was so excited that I forgot the mask the area of the chickadee before I painted it like I normally do, so I don't really like this piece. Oh well. Here's what I've got for now.
