July Birthdays! Painting vintage children's book pages with watercolor

I have been kinda busy for the last couple of days, so I just had to do some quickie little projects. It's all I had time for!

I tore some pages out of a 1950's children's "Learn to Count" book and used watercolors to color the illustrations to use for birthday cards. There are a lot of July b-days on my calendar.

The caption for this one (unfortunately, I sealed the envelope before I snapped a pic. DANGIT!) was:

"thinking of you...

...while I just kinda sit here and hold this apple."

Hehe....

and finally this one. My friend Jessie LOVES giraffes... That's all for now. Hopefully, I'll get some more time and am able to post some more interesting projects :D

Jewel Bee

I found this little jewel on my window sill a couple of weeks ago... Its colors are just spectacular. This picture doesn't do it justice, really. And just look at its tiny stinger! So, at this point, I totally wish I knew how and had the supplies to make resin pendants, but alas, I don't. Plus, I can't spend much more on craft supplies for a while, as I've gone pretty overboard the last couple of months. *Le sigh* I guess I'll hoard it (like everything else) until I can use it some day.

Beaded Butterfly Headband and Bonus Magnets :)

Here's another headband I made yesterday. It's a lot wider than the other one, and I'm not sure if I like it as much...

I put a mini beaded butterfly on it.

BONUS!!! I made some quickie magnets using cut outs from a vintage children's book. I only used elmer's glue to hold them together, so I hope they can take some use....Otherwise it's hello hot glue gun!
