The Craft Fair!

Yesterday was my very first craft fair! My friend Jessica who makes awesome infant carseat covers offered to share a booth with me, and it went sooo well, for both of us. It was a HUGE fair, with I think they said 220 vendors. Tons of people were there, and we had a great booth location right at an entrance to a gym filled with more booths. (Emma, if you're reading this, do you recognize your bunting garland?! It was perfectly fantastic decoration!!!)
I learned a LOT... Mainly what sells and what doesn't. And that I think it pays to have colorful displays, but hey, you know me! Would I have anything but colorful? :) Oh, and I found a good final use for my halloween pumpkin. He made a great sign-holder.
Here's the display board I made for my shrinky earrings and scrabble tile pendants. It was my cricut to the rescue to make a lot of my display signs.

*Huge sigh of relief!* So it's all over! After a week of crazy crafting and ouch, I'd say it was worth it. I had a lot of fun, and I'll do it again (especially now I've got all the displays made)! And hopefully after I get my back fixed, because it's KILLING ME. Tomorrow's the day I get to see the spinal surgeon... Wish me luck.

Hi Kira,
Your booth looks fantastic! It would have drawn me in straight away! I'm go glad it went well for you, especially with all the work you poured into it with only a week notice! That's a heroic effort!
Wishing you all the best with your Dr. appointment. I hope you get relief soon, you're such an inspiring artist, I always love to come visit your blog. I can just imagine what you could do if you were pain free. Good luck!!

p.s. I'm having a giveaway on my blog if you'd like to pop over and have a look. I'd love to see you there.

Thank you guys for your love!! I just got back from the appointment... and surgery is scheduled for December 16th!!!!!! I'm soooo excited.

Pinkpug - I didn't bring a whole ton of stuff, just as much as I had time to do, plus what I had on hand crafted already. I didn't sell out of anything, though. I think I had something like 50 or so bottlecap necklaces, 30ish scrabble tile pendants, under 10 plush, then maybe 30ish magnets, then some other random stuff like envelopes, stickers and ornaments. I guess it all depends on how big the craft fair is :) When I got there and saw everyone else setting up, I thought there was no way I had enough stuff (it only filled 2 fruit boxes), but when it was all out and displayed, it looked like a lot more. Good luck! I hope you sell a ton, and have lots of fun :) (Hey, that rhymed)

It looks great! I am glad that you did well (unlike my unfortunate turn-out at my craft bazaar last year... :/)... Anyways, also glad to hear that your surgery is all set up!

I also just wanted to let you know that I have an award for you here: http://averysbooknook.blogspot.com/2010/11/lookie-here-my-first-award.html

Awwww well done on the Craft fair, I've done a few and setting up can be a bit daunting. So glad you made use of the bunting, it fits in perfectly with your set up too :)

So, I have to admit I stumbled upon your blog late one night in October-ish by searching dia de los muertos crafty things in google. I am a fellow Alabamian crafter and feel so sad that I have been so busy lately and missed your craft fair (where was it if you don't mind me asking)?

I love your artistic style and crafting skills, when I showed your blog to my boyfriend he said you were my crafting soul-mate because we have such similar taste!

If you want to check out my blog sometime, please do and if you can become a follower (I am new at all this...).
