Peanut flew out the door yesterday, looking for me as I started a load of laundry. He's gone, and I feel like a failure. He loved me so much, and I didn't keep him safe. I've never been so heartbroken or felt so empty in my life. Don't expect any crafting for a while, I feel like things will never be the same.

Awww... Maybe he'll come back. Or, someone else might find him, if he's tame. My aunt found a tame bird in her back yard once. She kept him as a pet. i wonder if you put up missing signs if someone might see him and bring him back. But, he is a bird, so who knows how far he'll travel. Whatever happens, though, i'm sure he'll be okay.

Definitely take Nina's advice and put up signs. I belong to a pet forum where many members have found stray pet birds. You may also want to keep his cage on the porch, filled with food (if this is easy to do without a ton of wildlife coming to your porch) so he knows he can come home. I'm so so sorry and I hope he does return soon!

That's so sad! :( Maybe instead of not crafting, you should make some crafts in honor of Peanut! It might cheer you up. :D

So sorry! I hope Peanut will find his way back. I also encourage you to put up some signs. You just never know, someone may have him and is keeping him safe wondering where he came from.
My thoughts are with you and your pretty little bird.

Kira, I am so sorry to hear about Peanut =( But don't give up hope- post signs, when I was little we found a parakeet in the gutter by our house and we had him for a long time. If someone sees him they'll know for sure he belongs to someone. No matter what happens, take comfort in knowing that you let him roam the house and enjoy life as a bird rather than confining him to a tiny cage and clipping his wings
