Quilted batik pillow with sealife embroidery

So! Here I cut out all of my squares to frame the embroidery. Now, I am a complete novice at piecing together quilts and whatnot, and I didn't have a pattern, so it didn't quite end up exactly now I wanted it to.

I ended up having to add an additional 4 squares in order to frame the octopus piece completely. I'm still not too sure why, but it ended up okay. The only weird thing is that the orange squares became 1 inch instead of 2 inches. Meh, it still looks fine, right?

Here we are, stuffing complete. I'm pretty proud of myself.

Oh and PS, that new sewing machine is AMAZING. So quiet, and so light! Plus it comes with like a million different stitches and an automatic needle threader! WOO HOO!!!!
